FST (Flex Stretching Therapy) is a passive stretching technique that is performed on a treatment table. Inspired by the Anatomy Trains' myofascial meridians,Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) meridians, and the principles of tensegrity, FST was developed to provide faster and more effective treatment for musculoskeletal disorders. It was created to be incorporated into various manual therapy modalities.

In summarizing the diagnostic and treatment methods of FST, we view the human body as a dome-shaped tent, emphasizing the restoration of overall tensegrity. The primary goal is to restore the tensegrity of the entire body before directly addressing the patient's primary pain or secondary concerns. Rather than approaching the painful area directly, we focus on identifying and removing unnecessary tension and hidden restrictions within the body. Once these are resolved, general assessments and treatments can be conducted. As a result, the patient experiences significant changes in pain intensity, range of motion (ROM), and other symptoms after the restoration of tensegrity.

Throughout the process of tensegrity restoration, both the patient and the therapist become aware of the presence of numerous compensation patterns and the resulting limitations in muscle and joint activity, as well as pain. FST utilizes 15-30 minutes of passive stretching to eliminate unnecessary tension, employing two specific techniques: axial trunk rotation and knee compression. These techniques effectively stretch muscles that were previously difficult to target using massage or conventional stretching methods. Moreover, they reduce therapist fatigue during treatment, placing minimal strain on joints and the spine. The knee compression technique, utilizing the principles of fulcrum and leverage, is particularly effective for tall and large individuals.

By incorporating these innovative techniques into your practice, you can provide a more comprehensive and effective treatment approach, ensuring optimal outcomes for your patients.

In acupuncture, the selection of specific points for treatment is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which views the body as a network of energy channels or meridians through which Qi (or vital energy) flows. According to this theory, each meridian is associated with a particular organ system and specific symptoms or conditions.
Our therapist is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Treatments can include Acupuncture, Electro- Acupuncture, Cupping (Stationary, Sliding), Gua-sha, and Tui-na (TCM style massage),Acupressure. The unique mix of acupuncture and the Flex stretch therapy treatments can help stimulate blood flow, relax tight muscle, retrain muscle, and soothe tense nerves. This style of treatment is helpful for patients of all ages with sports injuries, chronic pain syndromes, digestive complaints, stress management, and womenā€™s health issues.

This treatment involves stimulating the vital-energy points along the meridians of our body to affect maximum energy flow.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, over 800 vital energy points along the meridians run from the head down to the heels, especially along either side of the spinal column. (The meridians connect the interior and exterior of the body). Every point has specific therapeutic effects on the related organ. By massaging these points, the corresponding body area receives specific therapeutic treatment. It can be used to treat internal organ diseases, relieve internal discomfort, relax, or promote the body's overall well-being.
